A bit of history… Literally meaning ‘mountain house’, translated from the German, Berghaus was founded in 1966 by the climbers Peter Lockey and Gordon Davison. Initially importing and distributing, it wasn’t until 1972 that they began to create their own outdoor wear for men and women. By the 80s Berghaus was thriving, releasing its hugely popular Gemini jacket, followed swiftly by the Trango jacket which are both still in production today. At the forefront of the movement towards a higher level of outdoor clothing technology, Berghaus is continuing to develop fabric and clothing to not only make activities more comfortable, but easier and more enjoyable.
As well as the occasional sighting of Liam Gallagher in a jacket, Berghaus has be worn by multiple athletes over the years, including Sir Chris Bonington, Leo Houlding and Mick Fowler.
