A bit of history… Renowned for its worker aesthetic, Wrangler was established in 1904 as a manufacturer of jeans and workwear. With a small team and a couple of sewing machines, twenty-year-old C. C. Hudson ran a small workshop at the very start, making overalls and sewing buttons. Dubbed ‘Wrangler’ officially in 1943, the brand grew significantly from Hudson’s humble workshop. The jeans, they are now so well-known for producing, were first made by the Blue Bell Overall Company in 1947, developed by Bernard Lichtenstein as a wearable item for cowboys, used for riding and rodeo. Featuring pockets specifically placed for comfort in the saddle, a zipper fly and felled seems, the jeans were highly considered items, made to be durable and comfortable.
Embraced by the hip-hop culture of the 90s, Wrangler jeans were matched with Timberlands and The North Face puffers on the regular. However, it was also famously worm by Freddie Mercury during his iconic Live Aid performance, inspiring a Bohemian Rhapsody line by the brand.
