Festival season is definitely here and we couldn’t be more hyped for it. We all know the UK is known for its world famous festivals - which we believe just can’t be compared to others across the world. We wanted to take a deep dive on some of the massive festival moments that have happened over the years. We also wanted to share our favourite pieces that are reminiscent of that year, so you can get all the inspiration for this year's festival season. Let’s take a look:
1 - Beyonce headlining Glastonbury 2011:

This one needs no introduction but we couldn’t start this post without mentioning the iconic moment Beyonce headlined Glastonbury in 2011. This was her first headlining and has since gone down as one of the most iconic performances at Glastonbury.

Our fashion pick: we love this vintage strappy vests as an easy throw-on piece to wear all day running around a festival. This velvet effect was a firm favourite, along with dip-dyed hair and coloured denim.
2- Arctic Monkeys Reading 2014:

The Arctic Monkeys's set in Reading is one that will forever be remembered. Many remember their set as one of the formative moments that made them who they are today. From the slicked back hair and shiny leathers, they stood out with their classic riffs and edgy but effortless style.

Our fashion pick: we love vintage leather jackets as a nod to the Arctic Monkeys performance, grunge and biker jackets were big this year - so here is a nod to this iconic year in both music and fashion.

3 - Stormzy headlining Glastonbury 2019:

Another iconic set which opened with a myriad of pyrotechnics unlike others before. Stormzy was the first grime artist to ever headline the famous pyramid stage and his set was named “iconic” for a reason. He used his headlining spot to speak out on a variety of issues giving them a spotlight - making him one of the most impactful headliners of all time.

Our fashion pick: Slip dresses were big in 2019, and our vintage slip dresses are perfect for day-to-night wear for all the occasions between the food stands and main stages.

4- Billie Eilish headlining Reading and Leeds 2019:

In 2019, Billie Eilish took over the main stages at Reading and Leeds festivals. Named as one of the headliners for this year's Glastonbury, Billie brought the party with her two sets at Reading and Leeds.

Our fashion pick: Another favourite reminiscent of 2019 is Khaki, as we're all aware vintage cargos are also a staple in everyone's wardrobes. Check out our collection here.

5- Lana Del Ray - Latitude Festival 2019:

It was Lana Del Ray’s performance at Latitude in 2019 that will always be remembered. Known as someone who notoriously doesn't play many festivals - this was a rare delight for festival goers at Latitude.

Our fashion pick: A big trend back in 2019, was silk scarves. We love a vintage silk scarf as a way to add texture and colour to a festival outfit.

6 - Jay Z headlining Glastonbury 2008:

The first out of him and his wife, Jay Z played a defining hip-hop set. His set was full of all the crowd favourites that led the way for others in the hip-hop space to headline the festival.

Our fashion pick: there were so many iconic trends in 2008 but we love these edgy retro brown aviator frame sunglasses for that added Jay Z vibe to a festival outfit.

7 - Ben Howard - Boardmasters 2013:

Name a better setting for a festival right? Boardmasters is set just above the beach in Cornwall. One set that went down in history was Ben Howard in 2013 who was just starting to gain more exposure. The soothing sounds and indie setlist was one that is still remembered today.

Our fashion pick: all variations of shorts were very much in during 2013. We love vintage shorts for those hot sticky festival days.

8 - Kendrick Lamar headlining  Reading - 2018:

As only the second hip-hop act to headline the dual stages at Reading and Leeds, Kendrick Lamar went down as one of the most fun and high-energy sets of all time at the festivals.

Our fashion pick: Denim jackets are always a fan favourite but distressed denim jackets this year were a top festival go-to essential! Forever timeless you really can't go wrong with having maybe one (or two) in your wardrobe.

9 - The Rolling Stones headlining Glastonbury 2013:

If you are a Rock 'n' Roll fan you will most likely remember this iconic set. They made their long awaited debut in 2013 and performed the classics in true Rolling Stones style.

Our fashion pick: Brown tinted glasses were a firm favourite in 2013, we love these retro mini brown frame rectangle glasses.

10 - Florence and the Machine headlining Glastonbury 2015:

This performance by Florence was iconic. Performing her first album, the set was joyous and energising making her another icon to perform on the pyramid stage.

Our fashion pick: want to add that little bit extra to your festival outfit? Look no further than a classic suede jacket, the fringing trend began in 2015 and has only gone strength to strength from then.
