Vintage Men's Ellesse

Ticker tape and track jackets spring to mind when considering Ellesse products. Renowned for its colourful sportswear printed with the famous lowercase logo, Ellesse items offer a classic 90s look. Take a look at Europe’s favourite online vintage clothing store.

A bit of history… Founded in 1959, Ellesse’s name stems from its founder’s, Leonardo Servadio, initials (L.S.). Initially famed for its sports apparel, focusing on tennis and skiing, Servadio’s initial work resulted in iconic designs, such as the Jet Pant, included at a celebration of Italian design in 1979. A decade later, however, and the brand became as much a fashion label as it was a sporting one. A pioneer of athleisure, Ellesse was championed by the streetstyle movement and soon collaborated with Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, a French fashion designer. The striking ‘half-ball’ logo combines the images of ski tips and a tennis ball to symbolise the brands early designs and has been reported to be the first logo placed on the outside of clothes, with brands replicating the design swiftly.

Over 50 years has passed since the creation of Ellesse and, in that time, the brand has collaborated with multiple athletes, such as Boris Becker and Johanna Konta, as well as sponsoring the New York Marathon and the Italian football team. Moreover, the likes of Jessie J and Cassper Nyovest have sported the red and orange logo.
